Halloween has been cancelled!  Or at least the Mayor has banned trick or treating.  Fair enough - there are still lots of problems with cables, trees down, lack of power etc.  Our power went off Monday evening and came back on yesterday morning - only to go again this morning for some 6 hrs.  back on now, hopefully.

Walked around town a few times.  No serious damage or flooding but lots of trees down - hence the power cuts.  Power is carried via overhead cables in the US, not underground.  Cheaper, no doubt, and easier to fix than digging up a road, but very ugly and vulnerable to this sort of problem.
